I am always on the lookout for things that are a bit different in nails. I do love a solid colour but I also love things like accent glitter, flakies and holos. I had seen online that you could get indie holo topcoats to turn any polish into a holo. I went on to ebay and blindly picked one from ebay seller piper0926 aka Piper Polish. She makes her own topcoats and sells them on etsy also. I purchased a mini bottle for approx €10 inc delivery. A week or two later it arrived.
I knew that I had to try it with one of my favourite Nails Inc colours - Baker St. It's a glossy British Blue. I applied it last night. I used a coat of base coat and two coats of Nails Inc. I then applied one coat of holo top coat. I tried to apply Seche Vite but I think I had too many layers as the topcoat went a bit funny so I redid my nails without Seche Vite and waited for them to dry.
I had hoped to take lots of nice pictures out in the sun today but the weather has been so overcast that I had to take them indoors instead.
Personally I think this topcoat is pretty amazing. These nails are so shiny in direct light! The great thing about it is, you can use it with any colour so you effectively have a whole range of holo colours at your disposal. The only caveat to this is that the holo top coat does somwhat change the colour of the original polish, making it a bit more grey in places without direct sunlight. I think this would therefore probably work better with dark colours where it might not effect the colour as much.
Overall, I would encourage everyone to get this product, I really love it and can see myself using it a lot. What do you think?
