NYC Foil Explosion Nails Review

I was given a sample of the new NYC Foil Explosion Nails Collection. The inspiration for this collection came from the catwalk - as seen in shows such as Burberry Prorsum and Sass and Bide.

There are five colours in the collection. All brights for summer. They recommend just one coat so that's what I tried.

L-R: 013 Aqua Mystic, 011 Power of Elements, 010 Pure Air, 014 Magic Earth, 012 Enchanting Fire
The pictures are of one coat, except the middle finger which is two. The middle colour, Pure Air, is definitely the thinnest in consistency and I was also interested in what a second coat would look like. A second coat makes it more glossy, maybe a little less metallic.

A common problem with metallics of any brand is visible brush strokes. I don't think this collection suffers from this too much, maybe some colours more than others.

My favourite is definitely Enchanting Fire which is the reddish colour on my baby finger. It's really metallic, not streaky, and unlike any other colour I have.

These are priced at an amazing €1.99 which is a great price for such nice texture and colour range.

What do you think?

  2. Awh, thanks! I just cut them down actually, they get way too long otherwise! :)

  3. They're great for one-coaters! I wonder if they'd be any good for stamping x
