NOTD! Neon Twist to a Classic French Mani!

Hi everyone,

I have always thought of doing a nude and neon manicure but have never got around to it til now.

As has been well documented on this blog, nudes and bright pinks are my favourite colours and I am always looking for new things to do with them. I love French manicures too, they are so classy and classic.

Firstly, I painted my nails with two coats of Nails Inc's Porchester Sqaure. This is a nice nude colour with just a hint of grey.

I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite to make it dry before I did the tips.

I have used 1/3 of the tips in this photo
I bought Essence's tip guides in a local pharmacy for €1.49. There are 30 in a pack. You just pop it on the nail, leaving a couple of millimetres for the tip colour. Make sure the centre of the arc is the centre of your nail.

I like to wrap the sides around my finger and make sure it's stuck on well to the nail. Then just paint on the bare part and rip off a few minutes later. I topped with another layer of Seche.

This gives an excellent shape and is far better than anything I could do free-hand, especially on my right hand which is looking pretty similar to the left!

I can see myself doing a lot of variations on this in future. It is one of my favourite looks to date and it was so easy!

What do you think? Do you like the idea of modernising a classic?

  1. They're both beautiful colours, and the nail stickers are so handy! I would never be able to do tips without stickers, especially on my right hand!
