Just a quick update to let you know I passed another actuary exam. It was ST8 - General Insurance Pricing. That involves being able to price insurance based on a set of figures and assumptions. I'm so glad to pass it first time as it's an area I actually work in so I'd like to think I know a bit about it!
I am currently waiting on two other exam results for CA2 and CA3 which are basically modelling in Excel and presentations and were practical exams rather than written ones.
I now have only one written exam left - SA3 or 'The Fellowship'. This will enable me to call myself an actuary as opposed to an actuarial analyst and will also give me some new letters after my name - FIA. I am sitting this exam in April but unfortunately I am studying for it already.
While I may not pass it first time, I know qualification is probably likely next year. That means no more exams, studying at weekends, study days and all the rest! I will miss it but I will also be so glad to have it done!
Now to enjoy Christmas!
