Random Bits and Pieces

Hi Everyone,

Normally I have a theme for my posts but I have lots of photos that aren't enough for a post on their own so I thought I would stick them all together!

As you know, I recently finished my actuary exams for good. I decided to celebrate in the best way I know how - shopping!

Michael Kors hobo bag
I know Michael Kors bags are very popular right now but I really liked this soft leather hobo style one. I got it in the Michael Kors shop in Dundrum. I feel like it's a lovely colour for summer but because it's off-white (or 'vanilla' apparently), it will transition well too. I believe this is either the Weston Large Top Zip Shoulder Bag or the Large Bedford Tassle Pebbled Shoulder Bag (it appears to have changed name).

Dior 'Lady in Dior' sunglasses
Unfortunately I lost my sunglasses on holiday so when I saw this pair in House of Fraser, I knew I had to have them! I love the mixture of tortoiseshell and pink.

I hit up Karen Millen too and got this dress in the sale. It's my style - a skater style skirt and a little sheer at the top just to make it interesting. It was half price and I can see myself wearing it a lot. I also got a comment from my partner that it was one of the 'nicest things I'd ever bought' so that is something!

After I saw my name on the qualification list, I had to do my nails as they were chipped. If I had to pick one colour for life, it would be creamy neon pink so I decided to channel that happy feeling onto my nails! This is Models Own in Sun Hat from the Polish for Tans collection.

The day after I qualified was a Friday and my manager said I could sleep in that morning as a little reward for passing. I decided not to sleep in and go and get my hair done instead in my favourite salon - Ebano Ballinteer. I got a curly blowdry and this is me part way through looking like Medusa!

One of the rules about buying actuarial study notes from the notes supplier - ActEd - is that due to copyright issues, you are not allowed to give them to anyone else when you are finished. That means I have to throw them out when I am done. I love throwing out my notes. It's very cathartic!

I did an eBay haul recently. There is so much cheap jewellery for sale on there. It comes from China so it take about three weeks to arrive but it's about 25% of the price of the exact same items which are for sale online here. This necklace brightens up any outfit and is neutral so goes with most things.

When I was in China, I got some bits and pieces in a shop called Watsons which is a bit like Boots. They had lots of face masks for sale and this one intrigued me. It looked so hilarious while I had it on! I was really expecting the worse when I took it off after 20 mins but it was actually very smoothing.

My mum bought me a lot of polishes in the USA and a few were from the Orly Baked Collection. This is 'Hot Tropics'. I really love this colour. It's neon purple, veering on the pink side of purple, with a strong shimmer going through it. It lasted well and the colour was like nothing I own. I was so happy with it!

Finally, a nice girl called Sasha contacted me through my blog a few weeks ago to ask me if I would sell her a colour I had. It was a limited edition colour I bought when on holiday in the USA in J Crew, it's called 'Neon Sunset' and is no longer available. I sold it to her for a couple of dollars and it arrived safe and sound in Arkansas about a week later! I do like the colour but I have so many I'm happy to help someone out if they want it more than me.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

xxx

Rachel
